Clarke Beasley (1969 - )

Biography

Clarke Beasley was the son of Florida Boys lead singer, manager, and bass guitar player Les Beasley. The younger Beasley began traveling with the group to play bass guitar during the summer months when he was in college. After earning his college degree in 1990, Beasley joined the Florida Boys full-time.

His stint with the Florida Boys extended into 1991. During this time, Beasley decided road life wasn't for him and began to look for administrative opportunities in the music industry. He initially met with Joe Moscheo in an attempt to go to work for BMI. Moscheo didn't have an opening at that time but told Beasley the Gospel Music Association was looking for a Membership Director. One of Don Butler's final acts as head of GMA was hiring Beasley. During the two years that followed, Beasley also assumed the duties of Finance Director for GMA.

In 1993, the National Quartet Convention hired Beasley to manage the annual event. The decision had already been made to relocate NQC from Nashville, Tennessee where it had outgrown the facility to Louisville, Kentucky. Under Beasley's leadership, attendance at the event promptly doubled in 1994 and continued to grow each year for the rest of the decade. After 20 years in Louisville, NQC relocated to Pigeon Forge, still under Beasley's leadership. His title was utimately upgraded to Executive Vice President and Show Manager for all NQC events.
