Windy Johnson And The Messengers (1961-????)

Windy Johnson & The Messengers were led by Windy Johnson and his wife Mary Ellen Johnson who played piano for the quartet and was occasionally featured on vocals ("A Place Called Heaven"). The group was formed in 1961 and based in Jacksonville, Florida. Their nephew Jim Johnson Jr. began playing bass guitar for the group starting in 1969.
