Lee Kitchens

Lee Kitchens was born in Arkansas, the son of a Baptist preacher and songwriter. He studied music both at the Stamps-Baxter school in Texas and the Hartford school in Arkansas.

After stints with the Melody Masters Quartet, the Sunny South Quartet, the Victory Quartet, and three years of service in the US Navy, Kitchens launched the Dixie Rebels in 1949 where he sang lead until 1958.

After leaving the Rebels Quartet, Kitchens went on to sing baritone with Sons Of Song and the Americans.
