Steve French (September 24, 1959 - June 22, 2016)

Biography

Tennessee native Steve French had performed with regional groups before joining the Kingdom Heirs to sing baritone in 1982. French and his bass guitar player brother, Kreis, were co-owners of the group. French was also a member of the National Quartet Convention's board of directors for several years.

After being absent from the stage for several months, French announced his retirement from the Kingdom Heirs near the end of 2014. In 2016, Beckley, West Virginia's Register-Herald newspaper reported that French and another person had died on June 22 after jumping from the New River Gorge Bridge.
