John T Benson Jr (1904-????)

Biography

John T. Benson Jr. was the son of John T Benson Sr and father of Robert Benson. He became head of the John T Benson Publishing Company after the death of his father in 1930. During his tenure at the helm of the company, the business expanded from publishing into recording. Benson Records, Impact Records, and Heartwarming Records were all subsidiaries or the Benson company that were founded during John Jr's term of office. His sons, Robert and John III, succeeded him as heads of the company.

John Benson Jr is also credited with writing the verses to the song When The Saints Go Marching In.
