Charles Austin Miles (1868 - 1946)

Biography

Songwriter C. Austin Miles is best known for two classic Southern Gospel songs. A New Name In Glory was recorded for the Gaither Homecoming Series 1998 project Marching To Zion. However, his most famous composition is the classic, In The Garden, which has been recorded by the Chuck Wagon Gang (and featured on several of their albums), the Cathedral Quartet, the Kingsmen Quartet, the LeFevres, the Statler Brothers, the Statesmen, Legacy Five, the Kingdom Heirs, the Dixie Melody Boys and many others.
