Brian Free (1963-)
Biography
Brian Free sang tenor for Gold City for about a year in 1982-1983, then returned to the group in 1984 where he remained until 1993. In 1993. Free formed Brian Free And Assurance which began as a trio, then became a quartet in 1995 with the addition of bass singer Bob Caldwell. In 1998, Free disbanded the group and continued to travel as a soloist. He relaunched the group in 2001 in a quartet format with live musicians including Free's son Ricky on drums. The band was dropped in 2007, and in 2015 after the departure of bass singer Jeremy Lile, the group continued in a trio format.
