Biography

Billy Todd was the bass singer for the Florida Boys from 1959 to 1972. Todd began singing in public at the age of eight. As a teen, he sang with local groups called the Freewill Four and the Sycalauga Melody Boys. In high school, Todd performed in a barbershop quartet which happened to also include future actor Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle).

After leaving the Florida Boys in 1972, Todd stepped away from singing full-time to become the principal at the Berean Christian School in Pensacola, Florida. During the 1980s, Todd headed up a part-time group billed as Billy Todd & The Masters. He returned to singing bass full-time in 1996 when he joined the Dixie Echoes. He later sang with the Bibletones.
