Woody Beatty

Biography

Woody Beatty is a Southern Gospel musician and songwriter and the father of Kerry Beatty and Bryan Beatty. He performed with Music City Singers and Rosie Rozell And The Searchers during the 1970s. He joined the Palmetto State Quartet in 1989, playing the keyboard synthesizer. He took over as pianist when Hovie Lister left the group. Woody eventually assumed ownership of the group. He turned over ownership to his son Kerry when he retired in 2002. He also played piano for Southern Sound.
