Troy Burns (1952-)

Biography

Troy Burns joined The Inspirations in 1966 and held that position from 1966-1970. He then switched to playing bass guitar for the group from 1970-1973. In 1974 he became the lead singer for the group, a position he held until 1991. He later joined a group made up of former Inspirations members called Smoky Mountain Reunion.

In 2011, he formed the Troy Burns Family trio along with his wife Tammy. The group became a quartet in 2018.

In addition to touring with their family group, Troy and Tammy hosted the television show Down Home Gospel on WGGS-TV in the Greenville, South Carolina market.
