Ray Burdett

Biography

Ray Burdett sang bass with his first professional group, the Monitors Quartet, during the 1960s. He sang bass for the Blackwood Singers during the early 1970's. Ray became the bass singer for the Statesmen in 1973 following the death of Big Chief Wetherington. He remained with the Statesmen until 1975. He also sang with Willie Wynn And The Tennesseans in the late 1970s.

In 1980, Burdett joined a revived version of the Monitors based in Nashville. He left that group to sing backup for Loretta Lynn in March of 1981.

He also sang bass for Chosen Few.
