History
The lyrics for "Master The Tempest Is Raging" were written by Mary Ann Baker in 1874 at the request of Dr. H.R. Palmer. Dr. Palmer added music to Ms. Baker's words and published the song in his Songs Of Love For The Bible School that same year. Ira D Sankey included the song in his Sacred Songs And Solos in 1881. More than a century later, the song had appeared in well over 200 hymnals, typically under the alternate title "Peace Be Still").
