Joe Issacs And The Calvary Mountain Boys (????-????)
History
Joe Isaacs, a native of Jackson County, Kentucky, the son of Rev. Godfrey and Mrs. Bessie Isaacs, the youngest of 17 children has been playing and singing since he was 18. He has played with such groups as Ralph Stanley and The Clinch Mountain Boys (as Lead Singer,) Larry Sparks and The Lonesome Ramblers (playing Banjo and Singing Tenor,) Frank Wakefield and The Greenbriar Boys (Playin Banjo and Guitar) and other groups.
Joe met his wife, Lily, in New York City 1968. They were both entertaining with different groups, Joe with The "Greenbriar Boys" and Lily, a Columbia Recording Artist, with "Lily and Maria." Lily, born in Germany, grew up in Bronx, N.Y. in a Jewish Home.
After the tragic death of Joe's brother, Delmer, in December of 1970. Joe and Lily turned to Jesus Christ as their Savior, and since that time they are using their talents singing and playing gospel music only.
Leroy Ramsey, also a native of Jackson County, Kentucky was raised in a Christian home and started playing the Mandolin when just a child. He also plays the Guitar and Five String Banjo. Leroy, and his wife, Gilda, have enjoyed a Christian home, and are devoted to their church and the work or the Lora since their conversion about three ears ago.
