Bobby Goodman (February 21, 1938 - May 7, 2000)

Biography

Bobby Goodman was born in Burnwell, Alabama, a small community located in Walker County. Before rejoining the renowned gospel group The Happy Goodmans in 1965, Bobby led a very different life working as a truck driver and performing in a rock and roll band.

Upon rejoining the family group, Bobby brought new energy and talent to the ensemble. He played bass guitar and contributed as a soloist, helping shape the group’s evolving sound. It was during this period that The Happy Goodmans began to travel more extensively and gain significant recognition within the Southern gospel music circuit.

Bobby Goodman performed with the Happy Goodmans in the 1940's from 1965-1971.
