Meurice LeFevre (September 20, 1937 - October 25, 2019)

Biography

Meurice LeFevre was the son Urias LeFevre and Eva Mae LeFevre. Like most of his siblings, LeFevre performed with his family group both as a singer and instrumentalist. After launching Sing Records in 1959, LeFevre shifted his focus from performing to production work. Over the years, many groups including the LeFevres made their recordings at LeFevre Sound Studios.

LeFevre was the first person selected to chair the Board of Directors when the Gospel Music Association launched their Hall of Fame. He also served a term as president of the Atlanta, Georgia chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
